Community Sprints are the meet-ups (either in-person or virtually) portion of the Salesforce.org Commons Program, where we gather our engaged community of Customers, Partners, and Salesforce employees for 1-2 days of brainstorming, community activation, and driving impactful solutions to solve the world's most challenging problems. We do this by actively listening to each other, educating each other, and bringing our passion, experience, and technical know-how to projects that can be replicated and shared throughout the Salesforce ecosystem.
Who attends Community Sprints?
Anyone can attend, but we do highly recommend you have at least some level of experience as a Salesforce End-User, Administrator, Developer, or other Salesforce product related experience. The Commons Community team is committed to hosting a diverse and inclusive event and we find that those who have at least a baseline of experience and knowledge in our products have the most impactful time at a Sprint. In general, we encourage all those who work within the Salesforce ecosystem (Customers, Partners, and Employees) who have an interest in helping build technology solutions to make using Salesforce easier for Nonprofits, Housing Associations, and Schools to register to attend.

This team is working to create a helpful guide of prompts to make using AI tools like ChatGPT easier for Nonprofits. At the last Sprint, they gathered survey responses from other Sprinters, capturing ideas for where to focus on prompt recipes, developed and tested prompt examples, and will continue to work on compiling a published list to share in the Community.
What is DLRS? It’s an interface to rollup data between records where Salesforce can’t natively. At the last Sprint, the team shared a sneak peek at the brand new user interface and collected feedback, updated documentation, and worked with the Data Generation Toolkit team members to define sample data that can be used to help test DLRS at scale.
What is Membership Essentials? The goal of the memberships project is to build a common data model and supporting automations for managing memberships in Salesforce. At the last Sprint, the team worked towards launch by creating documentation, a new integration object, 7 flows, a lightning page, and 6 new platform events. Stay tuned for more information on launch plans in late winter!
Team which - since 2017 - has been creating short, digestible how-to videos from Nonprofit Salesforce documentation (NPSP, PMM, Outbound Funds, & Commons projects). Sprinty’s Community Resources (SCR) is a curated site for the nonprofit and education community where people can share resources that have been helpful to them and benefit from the experience of others. SCR includes hundreds of blog posts, Trailblazer Community conversations, online videos, and much, much more. At the last Sprint, the team built a draft of the functionality for end users to submit feedback on a resource (ie broken link), and approved over 100 new submitted resources in the library via their curation process. The team has three projects lined up for the February ‘24 Virtual Sprint: an overhaul to the Popular Sources page on the site, an audit to make sure all resource links still work, and creating a usability survey to solicit input and feedback from the community about the site, resources, and contributor experience. Come join SCR!
What is SEA? It's an end-to-end event management solution for everyone. SEA provides customizable event management, making registration, receipting, confirmation, and reporting easier and integrated with Salesforce. At the last Sprint, the team defined a list of event types that they’d like to build out samples of, including their challenges and opportunities. They also worked on ensuring scratch org builds include all sample data and examples!

Nonprofit Cloud Best Practices: Similar to early community-led efforts to help nonprofits find success using the NPSP, the goal of this project is to continue efforts to build and share NPC best practices via their Asset Hub. The initial launch of the site includes:
- Flow package for stakeholder management
- Resources for understanding how fundraising use cases map to Nonprofit Cloud objects
- Resources for understanding the differences between Salesforce’s two nonprofit offerings: Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) and Nonprofit Cloud (NPC).
Did you know that any promotional or fundraising email sent right from Salesforce should have an option for recipients to unsubscribe? Did you know that native Salesforce doesn't provide that feature? Don't worry -- there's an app for that and you can help improve it. Making it's virtual sprint debut, the Unsubscribe Link can benefit from your help whether you're a newer Salesforce user or someone with 13 certifications. The easiest way to help is to follow the installation instructions and provide feedback. More experienced folks can help improve the app's code and configuration. We are excited to get new volunteers!
Join this team and help build a data kit connector to connect Data Cloud to an NPSP instance!
At the last Virtual Sprint, the team:
- Developed the Data Kits with all the Data Cloud Objects (Data Streams, DLO’s, DMO’s, Identity Resolution, Calculated Insights).
- Came up with the solution design for the Data Kits and create the help document for the End Users of NPSP and also the documentation of the Readme and Git repository version control.
